Our commitment to teamwork extends to our community.
We strongly believe in giving back to our community. Over the years, we’ve taken pride in participating in a number of events and fundraisers in and around the Ottawa area. We also support a select number of community organizations through our professional services. Whether with the Ottawa Humane Society, the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Elizabeth Fry Society, we’re proud to get involved and bring our team together for causes of all kinds.
Relay for Life
In June 2009, Accurate walked in the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay For Life as a team (The Support Squad) to raise over $4,000. The Relay is an opportunity to raise money and get together with family and friends to celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost to cancer, and fight back in hope of finding a cure for this terrible disease.
Ottawa Humane Society
In 2009, Accurate took advantage of the Ottawa Humane Society‘s Employee Matching Gifts program. Many of our employees jumped on board, with Accurate matching each donation. We have also encouraged, via our Christmas card, other companies to take part in this cause as well. The Ottawa Humane Society has been providing a safe haven for sick, injured and homeless animals in Ottawa since 1896.
Elizabeth Fry Society
Accurate has provided practical and graphic design services for the Elizabeth Fry Society of Ottawa. The society gives assistance to women involved in the criminal justice system and those at risk of coming into conflict with the law.
Citizen Advocacy
The Citizen Advocacy knows that no one should feel alone. Right now in our community, there are people with disabilities who do. Like a good neighbour or friend the Advocacy matches volunteer advocates and people with disabilities so each feel more included and essential. They help each other face challenges and encourage each other to participate in the community life of Ottawa. There is a profound effect on both. Accurate has provided practical and graphic design services for Citizen Advocacy.
Learning Disabilities Association of Ottawa-Carleton
Accurate has assisted the Learning Disabilities Association of Ottawa-Carleton with pro bono graphic design services enabling them to put donated dollars directly into the program. This not-for-profit association is a group of parents and professionals brought together by their concern for children and adults with learning disabilities.
